About this Course
The CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) at NECTA in
Parramatta, Sydney, is a nationally recognised qualification for builders, site supervisors
and managers of small to medium building businesses. You apply structural principles,
building codes, standards and legal requirements to Class 1 and 10 buildings up to two
storeys, and to Class 2 to 9 Type C construction.
You will learn to plan and supervise safe building work, read plans and specifications,
prepare simple drawings, apply site surveys and set-out procedures, and minimise waste.
The Building pathway adds contracts, estimating, materials procurement, quality
management and energy-efficient construction.
The course runs for 78 weeks (CRICOS 121488J) and is open to international students who
meet NECTA’s entry requirements. Builder and site supervisor licensing varies across
